Wife Has Been Begging For Years

Well the wife has been begging for the past 3 years for a JK Unlimited and I surprised her one our 5 year anniversary. We both think it's awesome.

Wondering what we should do to it first.

Very nice haul! If this Jeep made your wife's anniversary wishes, then you have a winner my friend. I surprised my wife with her new Corvette in August, and she turned right around and got me a new Rubicon last month... It is a serious toss-up which one is gonna be more fun to drive...

Modifications take planning... First you need a goal for this Jeep; are future modifications aimed at rock-crawling performance, water-fording, wilderness trail agility, utility and camping, or sheer beauty like a chromed-out mobile light-all on 35-inch tires?

My local Jeep guys in Phoenix said the first thing is to ditch that stock bumper that you can't bolt anything else to. Once you decide how aggressive you'll be driving off-road, then you'll have decide on an all-steel bumper with an integrated winch and brush bars, skid plated for your differentials, trailing arm links, engine/trans/transfer case, and other low-hanging vital parts.

Perhaps right now you might decide how many and what type of auxilliary lights, and if you need bigger tires and a lift kit, which will change your ground clearance and what under-armor you'll need for steering and stabilizer linkages...

Set some goals, shop around, then let your plans evolve...
