YJ Michigan Guy

Hello all,
Found this forum from another site.

Been wheeling a number of years. Engineering and performance background.

Wheel a modded YJ (filled out my Profile) that was built from the ground up.

Also a matching trailer for those long trips.

Hope to learn and share knowledge.

Welcome and thanks

You posted on my thread "need help". you run the same tranny and transfer case as I do so I would like to ask some questions.
1. How did you fix the speed on your speedo to make it accurate.
2. Do you think 3.55 gears in front and rear would be enough to give me 5th gear for long trips and be able to sustain speed.

Thanks and Welcome

1. Running a full set of Autometer gauges so it was a set up with distance and programming. In your case you need to finalize gear ratio and tire diameter and get the correct wheel (sensor) from AA.

2. No I do not think 3.55`s are anywhere steep enough. Even with a small 33 inch tire.

Take a look at these and plug your numbers in.

Gear Ratio Calculator I like this one FWIW!!

Using these charts you can crunch numbers and find the optimum set up for your needs.
