Aloha hawaii Jeepers

Hello everyone
I have just purchased my jeep, but I made a out of state purchase, so my jeep will not arrive for 2 weeks.
I am hoping to give it a lift and enjoy the island sun.
Aloha

Aloha Turalini!

One of the first things you're going to have to do is get your jeep inspected. Since you don't have a lift yet, that just means the safety inspection. This is required in order to get it registered here.

I moved here a year ago and had to deal with it myself. Basic stuff is all the lights work, brakes work, etc. A lot of what they look at depends on the shop where you have it done, but here's what I was dinged on for mine...

Fender flares. Your tires can't extend beyond the flares. If they do, you'll have to get wider flares, or get yourself a smaller set of "inspection tires", for use one day a year. :P I got wider flares.

Bumper end caps. Aka the milk jugs. Mine had been removed by a previous owner, and the inspector didn't like the metal edges exposed. Got some flat caps from Amazon.

Turn signal lenses. PO had bought and installed some "euro" white turn signal lenses. Had to replace these with DOT approved yellow.

Don't be surprised if you wave at wranglers and don't get a wave back (especially if it's a JKU with a barcode sticker in the corner of the windshield), there's a lot of rental jeeps here.

Aloha and welcome. I've heard of guys who were required to install mud flaps as well as extend the fenders In my opinion, mud flaps have no business on a Jeep so that sucks.
If you haven't gotten the lift yet, see Vern at 4wheel parts. He has a 2.5" lift kit that many customers are very pleased with. They claim it's a better than factory ride! Just got my front bumper from him and will soon be getting the "Vern special" lift myself. Good luck and aloha
