Jeep Safety

So my safety check expires in about three weeks and my jeep is completly custom and old so there are multiple things to fail me on. Does anybody know of any shady places you can get a safety done here?

If they do, they won't put it online; I know after 2009 they really started to crack down on Safety Inspections and a lot of shops went out of business. Unless it has changed much, word of mouth is your only option. I know everyone is afraid of doing a recon sticker - but I build a 350 Chevy TJ (lifted, etc) there and my buddy was able to get it recon-ed pretty easily.

It will be really hard since their new safety check system. Their required to take a photo of the back right corner of the truck and send it to the state. I would just attempt to get your truck ready for recon and get recon so you don't have to worry. I just got my recon on Friday for my 83 Toyota. Hope this helps

^ +1! The guys at the recon place are super nice and helpful. They're not there to screw you over. BUT they are bound by the law. Do everything in your power to be within legal standards the first time you show up. It took me forever and a half to get an appointment bc they don't seem to like to answer their phones. You may want to consider going there in person to make an appointment. Also, hours are really short. M-F 8-11, 12-3. Closed on the weekends. Phone #: 808-733-2542.
