Stinger Rock Build - Sting Gray MOAB

I just picked up a Sting Gray Moab - and am loving it. I came back to a "real" Jeep after thrashing around in a TRACKhawk (MAJOR BEAST), had my fun and moved on for some REAL fun.

I had a 2016 JK (see my build). For this go around, I'm gonna take it down a notch. The theme for this build is a classic Pizza Cutter Stance. My plan as follows: I'm forgoing a lift and going with the Teraflex performance 1.5" leveling kit with falcon shocks with 33" pizza cutter tires.

Sting Gray MOAB Build "Stinger Rock"

Completed:
1. 20% Tint
2. BFG K02 34x10.5r17 (these measure 32.25" mounted)
3. Antennax 13"

Planned:
4. Teraflex 1.5" ST1 with falcon shocks
5. Falcon 2.1 steering stabilizer
6. Mopar hinge gate reinforcement
7. Mopar winch guard
8. Mopar door sill guards275/70r18
9. Mopar center tail-light relocate
10. Willis "4 wheel drive" decal
11. Spidertrax 1.75" wheel spacers
12. Mopar wheel locks
13. Borla Touring Axle-back exhaust (11955CB)
14. Hellwick rear sway-bar
15. Steer Smarts Yeti Track Bar
16. Rusty's Track Bar mount brace

As she sits today with completed mods - did not get pic on delivery day:

Looks great! Considering a MOAB edition myself. Sounds like a list of tasteful mods.

Stinger Rock Build - Sting Gray MOAB

So initial impression of the Tereflex 1.5" lift with falcon shocks:

The stance and appearance are just right with 33's - a nice balanced look. The additional lift is noticeable for sure, especially when hopping in, but still very usable as daily driver.

The Falcon shocks are stiffer and sportier than stock - feels like driving a car with the sport setting vs. normal. I will need to get more miles to really get the feel.

The spidertrax spacers are perfect - they add "just enough" spacing, and add a bit to the road feel with the slightly wider stance.

So far so good - but very happy with the stance, feel, and pizza cutter set-up.

I've been doing some research on the Steer Smarts gear - I'm thinking about just doing a full steering upgrade, Draglink, trackbar, and tie-rod. More to come!

Nice rig! I've done a lot of research and have ordered my Steersmarts Yeti adj front trackbar. Excellent, beefy stuff!

PM me if you want a set of MOPAR wheel locks for cheap. I started with the same set-up as you............Spidertrax spacers and Mopar wheel locks on the stock wheels. Used them for about 2 months.

LOL - thanks! I'm actually doing the Steer Smarts track-bar, tie-rod, and drag-link - also adding teraflex adjustable LCAs.

Thanks! I'm gonna go a little higher - swapping out to the dynatrac 2" lift.

Dynatrac lift is excellent - a nice upgrade from the falcon shocks and teraflex pucks, and a huge upgrade from stock. The damping is great - ride is medium firm, just right - height is legit, and Jeep is level.

Very happy with this decision - wish I made it first.

Just got the exact Jeep as yours! Loving it so far. I've been paying close attention to your thread and ordered the Dynatrac lift kit as well. Deciding between 18'' ad 20'' wheels at the moment. Ordered up the N-Fab podium side steps as well. Thanks for inspiration!

Right on!
Let me know if you need any feedback! I'll post up some pics once the 35's are on. I'm doing 17" Addict 2 (4.75" backspacing) with 315/70r17 KO2s - will be on later this week.

Nice build. I just placed and order for a new JLU Rubicon. I see you have the heavy duty hinge gate option. I have ordered that also, but I am not sure what it is getting me. Can you tell me if it is in fact a heavy duty spare tire hinge and bracket AND a heavy duty adjustable spare tire mount that will allow a 35 or 37 inch tire to be mounted? Thanks

Just the bracket. The JL hinge is much better that the JK (stock). I bought it just to be safe with a heavy tire, but honestly not sure how much really improves the strength.
