Now the new 3.6 w/ eTorque just won for 2019, but that's not available in JT.

I think they will just go with the warranty data they already have that covers every the 3.6 made.

They can go wherever they are going with this quality of motor assembly.
now that things are getting more complex with PUG and electric buster i can only wish them best of luck.

I just need a full weekend and some beers to tear it apart and reseal with rtv, don't really need their famous warranty for that

It just made me upset a bit that my brand new dream jeep is dripping oil.

Eh, semantics. The 3.6L has won multiple times since it's debut 8 years ago, and the current 3.6L with eTorque is identical to the engine in JL/JT. The eTorque MGU is a supplemental accessory basically, just like an A/C compressor or an alternator.

Sure do. The AEV company was started in my small home town. Still made here.

But the car that is shown in my post (craigs list ad) is not (NOT) an AEV machine. It is just a lowly Rubicon. But the price (WAS) posted at $71,000+. I see they now lowered it to $64,275.

When it gets down to around $40K let me know. Maybe then we can talk.

Let me ask you a question: Would you pay $71,000+ for a new 2020 Jeep Rubicon Truck?

$71k, nope, because that includes a $10k "Dealer Its New and Exciting" markup. However, I wouldnt be surprised people will give $62k for a fully loaded Rubicon. Personally, I wont go that much for a Gladiator. I will however give considerable thought to a Sport S with Max tow, etc for lower than $43k or so.

The MSRP isnt too far from the competition prices.

There are some people who will pay the $10K dealer markup. Not many. But there are some people with more dollars than sense.

Once you get the several dozen people flushed out who will pay the markup, you'll see prices start to hold at or around MSRP. If inventory starts to stack up, you'll see prices start to drop.

And don't forget that $62K is for a fully loaded model. Most of the trucks that a dealer will have on their lot will sticker for less than that. In some cases, like for a sport model, a lot less.

I doubt you'll see $62K loaded Rubicon like that go off the lot for under $58K or so but I'd be willing to bet that you'll see a lot of (Sport/Sport S) trucks sell for $40K or less.

Look at the concept Wrangler Truck for 2016.

I have 4 Jeeps now and have had many in the past. I am a Jeep person.

I have an 08 GC, 91 Cheorkee, 98 Wrangler TJ and a 13 JK 2 Dr.

I love them all.

Jeep has been promising a Truck for 20+ years. In 2016 they showed us the Jeep above.

I WOULD BUY THAT JEEP TRUCK EVEN IF I DIDN'T NEED IT!!!

But as usual, Jeep puts out a great concept and then wimps out with a 4 dr wrangler with a child's sand box on the back and calls it a "Jeep Truck" I would call it a "Trick Truck".

The truck above is probably (in truth) no more useful than the one they gave us. BUT, it is one you would leave out on the drive so everyone could see your "REAL JEEP TRUCK"

Actually That concept has been out since 2008. The Mopar JK8 conversion was based on this concept and the Military J8 since 2007 have been like that.. This model as pictured has never been available to the public direct from Mopar. If you see one for sale its either the Actual one off concept truck or a Dealer built Mopar kit.

I'm not sure if I read the question correctly.

Based on it's frame length, it could easily be a flat bed chassis truck.

Or better, a flat bed truck with some gone wrong DIY mall-utility addition.

They could not even tuck the rear axle better under the rear door?

Any custom vehicle builder would be ashamed to put out a "gone wrong" project like this.

But I get it, there is nothing else, that is available for an average car loan, that would better suit a practical thinking mall crawler, who wants to bring even a kitchen sink for his/her version of adventure.

So let's celebrate it and maybe that will make it better!

It makes me wonder what George Carlin would say about it?

I wouldn't pay the $52k they want for new JLU Rubicons. I think the JT is a cool, niche market vehicle. I would have one, but it would have to be used as there is no way I would pay anything close to sticker. My buddy bought a slightly used F450 CC 4X4 Platinum with the 6.7PS and only gave $74k, which was still too much for me, but point being, $70k for a truck, it better be able to pull a heckofa lot more than 7500 and drive like a Cadillac while doing it.

NO ONE is paying that much for a JLU unless they are clueless idiots. You can get 12-15% off MSRP. People paid OVER MSRP for the first JL's too....must be thrilled to see them selling at huge discounts now. The JT will fall as well.

How about this one?This and a V8, I don't think I could resist.

But I have to say, I like the proportions of the bed on this one WAY better than of the J6. J6 is OK, but this one is simply irresistible.

sorry i may not be with the general concensus here but i think the JT is the ugliest vehicle i have ever laid eyes upon. they should have named LT for limo truck. u need 44's to have any good angles. ugly ugly ugly....they could have atleast put the entire rear fender under the bed not into part of the cab.Id take a Bruiser conversion any day of the week. its proportioned correctly.

I have to disagree. There is a lot of the Land Rover Defender 130 in this and I really dig it. Don't look at this and ask it to be a truck, because it's not. Neither is it a Jeep Wrangler. It's something completely different and it's completely capable.

I do not care if you like it, I love it! Had a jeep for 20 yrs (1993 YJ) until someone pulled out in front of me on a wet road in a curve and killed it. Bought my JT yesterday. As soon as I saw it, decided it was time to have a jeep again. Now if we can just get half doors with ragtop uppers, that would be awesome.

I have slowly changed my mind on the JT. It may not be for me, due to price point and length, but I do like to see new vehicles on the road which are different and unique.

There are so many vehicles around these days that are almost indistinguishable from one another.

In 2015, I reluctantly traded my 2012 JKUR in on a GMC Sierra when I needed a truck. I wanted to keep the Rubi, but it didnít make economic sense. I recently sold the GMC to get a Rubi Gladiator, and am happy I did. I have a full-height soft-topper (https://www.softopper.com/softopper) in the mail. Itís a real truck. It has a payload of 1,500 lbs and can tow 7,000 lbs. Itís cargo capcity is a bit less than my big GMC, but the same as other mid-sized trucks. For whatever reason (perhaps the 8-speed transmission), it drives a lot more pleasantly on highway hills than my 2012 JKUR. If I lift it a few inches, it will go almost anywhere my JKUR would go. The side rock rails are 18Ē off the ground at the lowest point. You can put 35Ē tires on it with no lift, as I have done, and 37Ē tires on it with a 2Ē lift.

Anyway, it my second most favorite vehicle I ever have owned. And I only paid $45K for mine.

Now that I would take a serious look at. I just wonít live with anything less than a full length bed. - Yes, itís not a real truck w/o that.

OK I know I'm bumping an old post, but if they actually made this vehicle I think almost every 2 door owner would trade in immediately. I parked my 2 dr JK beside a gladiator yesterday and my first thought was what if it came in a 2 door... Basically just a little longer than an unlimited, but 2 doors and the bed in back.

When I was a teenager I loved the small Chevy S10 pickup or the Ford Ranger. Imagine that, but a jeep? My teenage self would kill for such a vehicle.
