Does the roof come off it?

I wonder if you can get a soft top to cover the cab and box all in one piece.

That picture shows a seam on the hardtop that would indicate it has freedom panels like a standard jeep.

Awesome! I can't wait to see these on the streets! I wonder what the wheel base will be?

It would have been great if they put an Hemi option on this.

It should have a removeable top as well as Freedom Panels. A soft top will also be available. Just as happened with the Scrambler, I'm sure aftermarket tops will appear that cover the cab and bed. I never liked those. I'm also betting that aftermarket hard and soft camper shells will soon become available.

I'm already planning to sell my Scrambler (again) and trade/sell my '16 Canyon SLT to fund the purchase of a Gladiator as soon as order banks open. Most speculation is that a loaded Rubicon will be in the neighborhood of $60K.

As for wheelbase, no figures have been released but the frame is rumored to be about 3' longer than a JKU. There will be significant overhang in the rear, just as with the original Scrambler which was called a "tail-dragger" when it came out. With a slight lift and very careful driving, the rear bumper on my '82 is in pristine condition...right down to the extremely rare plastic end caps.

And Jeep just posted this: https://www.facebook.com/7037526514/...8727288106515/

Has anyone seen any official announcements by Jeep (FCA) that the Gladiator is indeed called the "JT" ??

I am not saying it isn't. Just haven't seen anything except by diehard Jeep fans.

I'll be very curious to see what the aftermarket brings in terms of a top that covers both the cab and bed. And that towing capacity is sweet. I find myself getting excited about this thing.

The Los Angeles Auto Show has it listed as one of the 40 vehicles debuting this year.

What I don't get is how this thing is going to "Tow" 7,650lbs. and it has the same V6 we have.
I feel my Jeep w/4.10's pulled on with just my lawn trailer behind me maybe 2500lbs.

I get what your saying, but manufacturers look at a bunch of stuff when deciding on the rating. Look at the JK vs. JKU and gearing. But power wise...I agree. The 3.6 isn't a power house, and I couldn't see it towing that much weight very well. Seems it's a combo of axles/gears, tires, suspension and the trans. I'm sure we'll see some towing reviews sometime soon.
My Dakota R/T came with a bigger motor/more power then other Dakota models, a bigger 9 1/4 axle/ring gear, 3.92 gears, and was rated at 1000 lbs less towing then the 318 Dakotas with the 8 1/4 axle. Only reason I could figure was the 1" lower suspension, but only the manufacturer really knows why.

Definitely lot of factors go into it but yes I was referring to the power specifically or lack there of ...

No way I'd be yanking 7650 lbs around with a moderate V6.

I'm going to say that tow rating only applies to a very specific trim/engine/trans/gear combination. Like only with the diesel/auto/4.10s.

I'm going to wait for the diesel to come out. I want a Rubicon with the diesel. This would be the perfect do everything Jeep for me. I would pull my ski boat, pull my camper, load mulch for around the house, load deer and hunting equipment and hit the trails. I really like the look of the new truck.

It may end up being a new perfect niche vehicle for a lot of people. Definitely a one of a kind.

Always nice to have another version of the Wrangler available. Wish there was the 2-dr ext cab version as the 4-dr sure reminds me of the Hummer pickup. Flame on
