Yeah, the bed and body will move independently as the frame flexes. That will tweak the mounts enough to pop through the fiberglass top. Either the Jeep top or the bed topper. Or both.

That's why you don't see baskets like that on other trucks.

Now if you had matching baskets front and rear that were separated, it might work better. Or you could do the same kind of rack system they put on full size trucks where everything is attached only to the bed with an overhang above the cab. That would work too. Get one that stopped just short of the freedom panels so they didn't block them. That would be pretty cool.

Looks good though.

I'm curious, what would happen? You think it's too top heavy? (I know next to nothing about the new Gladiator, not even sure what the "mod" in the picture is.)

A bed topper with a rack that slightly overhangs the cab is what I would do if I had a Gladiator.

But then, I can't afford the truck itself, so it's all wishful thinking for me!

Seems like it would make a lot more sense to mount it to the A-pillars and rear bumper, like with certain roof racks, my Gobi for instance.

I'm very curious to see what the aftermarket will bring.

Very Nice, I hope there will be a soft top / canvas for the bed, too.

Man I thought it was a Defender 110 at first glance. I am anxious to see what the aftermarket brings for toppers on the gladiator.
