Are all TJ 4.0 headers created equal?

So i have exhaust leaks and an aging exhaust system. Time to start thinking about headers and exhaust and actually running it out the rear (current exhaust exits before rear axle.

I've been installing headers on cars and trucks for a long time. I want Borla or Flowmaster or Drake BUT i've found some EBay cheapies...If they mate up with no leaks does anyone see a downside? I'm not paying $600, or even $500 for headers, it's ridiculous pricing.

Also, does anyone make hi flow intake manifolds for 4.0's?

Some internet rumor...some my experience.....earlier TJs were "known" for cracking headers/ exhaust leaks......and there are some "aftermarket" companies that insist theirs are better....it s'posedly was "fixed" in '02 or later....IDK for sure which year. I do have an '04 and when I first heard of this problem started looking for aftermarket parts...trying to be informed before I "needed" one. That is when I found out my '04 didn't need it. I did switch out the majority of my exhaust with Flowmaster parts and like it.

I have also done/ added some CAI and spacer parts, which according to most people on this Forum are doing severe damage to my motor. I have had these parts for over 7 years and am fairly happy with them. I have had them on the Jeep for more than 100K miles...it currently has 170K on the clock.

S'posedly the 4.0 will not benefit from any Modification to the intake or exhaust, as the computer is "tuned" to the maximum amount and more air or free flowing exhaust is not going to help it any. Again I am repeating what MOST people on here believe. That is fine, they can have their opinion.

As mentioned I do have CAI kit and high flow exhaust. If my header were to "go bad", yeah I would get an aftermarket part. I believe that any motor will run better if less restricted. But I could be wrong. I just know I am very happy with my Jeep.
