Headers. "Yes i searched"

OK, I've searched extensively and pretty much figured out that aftermarket headers are worthless on the TJ, because they will crack also. I've seen people talk about factory headers for the TJ with flexible ends. Does anybody know where I can find the newer versions of those? The previous owner put aftermarket headers so i'm looking for OEM with the flex ends. Thanks

I bought this one a couple months ago. http://m.advanceautoparts.com/mt/sho...orman+manifold

I was able to use a 30% coupon on the web site, and chose store pickup. I went and got it about 15 minutes later. It worked perfectly, and has the flex bellows. I would recommend cleaning it before installing. Mine had cosmoline or some other oily rust inhibiter on it, and smoked a little and smelled pretty bad while it burned off.

What year is your Jeep? Mine is a 2003. Says this header won't fit it.

That header won't fit your Jeep. You have the dual cats in the header so you need a different header.

The problem you have is these companies are too cheap or their customers are too cheap to permit producing a design that is robust enough. For example, use of 409 CRES instead of 304. Use of 14 ga or thinner instead of 12 ga or thicker. Using double welds, etc, etc.

honestly, the banks revolver header worked for me, but i tore the #1 intermediate pipe off of the collector a year later because my right rear shock was pulling on the tail pipe when the suspension would articulate. i went through two of the ones from 1A auto with the bellows at the #1 and #6 intermediate pipes and it did the same thing as the banks one. but they didn't last for more than 5 months each.

i just did the exhaust system this year (new cat, muffler, and piping) and got a Crown 309 ss header by Rough Trails and so far, no cracking. the design was identical to the Banks one i had, but the flange was thicker, so there was a vacuum leak in the intake manifold. it was $290 + tax and ground shipping, but i paid around $400 for it due to air freight because i live on a freaking island!!
