YJ 2.5 Headers

I just finished installing headers on my '91 YJ, and I see a huge improvement in performance. It is a lot peppier off the line, and even gets a second gear scratch! I didn't expect much of a change, but it certainly makes a difference. I have the stock 4.11s with 235 Duratracs.
I'm thinking of adding some to my '89, but its a 6 cyl, and I would probably do the fuel injection and the 4.0 heads. Just with I had a V8 like my CJ had back in the day...

Why did you remove the intake? I put the exhaust manifold back in mine after welding a crack in from the bottom with the intake still on. Is yours different? I have a 91 YJ as well

Wont work on the 89. Mine has a hot air intake for the air box.

The gasket that came with the header was for both intake/exhaust - plus I wanted to examine/clean it.

Nice! I have Pacesetter Armor coats too. About two years now, no problems and work great.

You can also find a header and cat back exhaust from www.summitracing.com for the 4 cylinder YJ. I just wonder if the AX5 will handle the extra power and torque. To me it seems to be a lot like the GM TH200 in the G bodies where any mods to the motor makes it eat the transmission.
