Trans filler hole bolt problems

Help!!!

Just tried to reinstall the bolt for the transmission filler hole and I can't get the threads started nor will the bolt go in far enough to engage the threads. It seems that something inside the transmission is blocking the bolt. I tried engaging the clutch and shifting between gears and can't seem to figure it out.

Any help you can provide would be much appreciated.

Thank you!

Are you sure you are turning the bolt in the right direction?
