2010 Top Options

Posted this in the JK forum but I realize that a lot of people probably don't read it and I need some good advice!

Hey everyone, I looked through the forums for an answer to my question but I couldn't really find what I was looking for, so I am going to ask it now!

I have a 2010 4 door hardtop. I really want to drive around with the top off for the remainder of the summer. I bought the All Terrain Bestop Cover for overnight or while sitting outside my office. My question is, what will protect the interior and myself from pouring rain while I am driving? Bikini top, one of the cheaper soft tops, safari top? Anything? Or should I just leave the hardtop back on? Regretting not having a dual top right now but they are on backorder til September here. Taking the hardtop off and on everyday isn't an option for me either as I can't lift it everytime I want to do that haha.

I can't get to work soaked if it does rain which is why I am looking for options, if it was the weekend then woohoo haha.

There are so many options out there, it's hard to choose and know what will work!

To ensure you stay dry, completely dry... a full softop would be your best choice, IMO. Safari's and bikinis are still going to let you get wet if the wind is blowing... But a Safari may be enough for you if you have full doors and a 4 door.... Idk, someone with your setup will chime in soon, I'm sure..

Door surrounds. It's all about the door surrounds. Those are the plastic "wings" that the soft top or Bikini will attach to, and then the doors will slam shut tight against them.

You probably do not have door surrounds. They will come with a full top, so if you go that route, you're fine.

A Bikini or Safari style top will fit on your Jeep, but without the door surrounds, it will instead attach to the roll bar. Works great for shade, keeps a lot of water off you, but will NOT be as weathertight as it would be with the surrounds. (the roll bar is about 2" further in than the doors, so you'll have that gap.).

The factory door surrounds for a 2010 are slightly different than 2007-2009. That's because the factory top is what we call a "cable top" and attaches differently above the doors.
