Hi, I am doing some research on snorkel systems for my 2002 TJ Sport. I have been looking for a system that is not that expensive, but good quality. I have seen the ARB system and I am not sure if it will fit with my windshield mounted light bar. I dont even know if it is worth getting a snorkel, but I am seeking your help. Any input on snorkels out there, please reply with your comments.

Thanks

snorkel only helps if you like to barrel through the mud. we put one on my buddies cuz his jeep would act up even in a little splashing water. looks like it would fit with your light bar. it does require drilling a large hole in your fender, i think 4". if you don't do it right it will rust after time. does require little modifications, not too hard to follow though. don't bother unless you love the mud, i don't.

I try to go off roading a couple times a month, but I always find myself running through water or mud, and I dont feel like finding out the hard way that the water level was too high. I am afraid of hydro-locking my engine. I dont go looking for the deep water. I am not sold yet on cutting my body panels up yet. But thanks for your input.

I used to run the same trail all the time and never had a problem. 1 weekend I went down and came back out followed by a return a few hours later and went a little more to the left or right in that crossing and my motor was done. I have a snorkel as a just in case but we do have ALOT of water in Florida. I still avoid spots I know are deep when I can.

Your better off just putting in a bypass valve in the air intake, although it doesnt look as "cool" as a snorkel and wont help if the whole hood is underwater but then a snorklel wont much either i would think.
I had a cold air intake that went down below the bottom of the car so I was always worried about that too.
