My wife has a 2015 Cherokee KL. She has already had the transmission replaced and the recalls done. Usually when putting the vehicle in park, it will roll a few inches. This morning when she used her remote starter (factory), it rolled forward a few inches. Has this happened to anyone before? What could cause this?
sounds like the couple inches that it usually rolls when put in park didn't happen when she parked it....but when she used the remote start, it rolled those couple inches, due to the jolt of the engine starting.....sounds like normal park play that most automatics have....
Not familiar with that particular model, but I would have the Shift Linkage checked/readjusted first. If you had a shop do the R&R of the tranny, then take it back to them. . .if it was done recently.
Okay, since the parking brake was not applied that generally means that the vehicle moved a couple inches until the park position pawl was loaded and holding the vehicle.
When it was started it moved the opposite direction taking the load off of the parking pawl. My guess is that there is a slight high pressure leak in the valve body that is allowing this to happen. In essence it is allowing pressure to go to one of the clutch packs which is engaging the transmission.
I would take it back to the people that rebuilt it and have them look at it.
