Guests Starting Threads?

Just wondering, since when do guests not only get to post on WF, but actually start threads? Has it always been like that? I don't recall seeing guests making comments until just a few weeks ago, but I just saw a thread actually started by a guest?? Is this normal?

When I first saw it I thought WTF? Not Wrangler The Forum, neither. I don't like it and I don't know why I don't. I just don't.

There has been a glitch that is hopefully getting sorted out by headquarters. It has been frustrating for the mods to say the least. Oh, and the are people who have actually signed up as members but in some kind of limbo state lol.

For all the threads where I see people asking this question about guests, I always see the persons name, not guest.

I also have noticed that from time to time I post as a guest ( work around is to logout then log back in to fix) which may be coinciding with my other reported bug of not being to change the "Jeeper" thing below my avatar that I also reported

I can say with certanty that when I am on WF with my fruit powered phone it does not have this behavior, not sure if this bit of info will be of help but will post it just incase.

Where it says jeeper, newb or whatever under your screen name, it will say guest and I've seen quite a few of them.

You all are Members......it is just a Glitch in our system. AG, the owners of WF have their Technical Team working on it. It will be corrected. Please be patient..

I guess it's not a huge issue, just mildly annoying. The reason is that along with membership comes accountability. A guest can't be 86ed or sanctioned for bad behavior, so little accountability. Not that any of them have done that recently that I've seen. But if there's no way to stop it, trolls might abound. At least, if we're members, they know where to send the internet police, LOL!

Even though it says Guest, our WF Staff still has access to their individual profiles. So if a SPAMMER was to show up as a Guest, he can still be removed..FYI

I will agree it is getting a bit annoying having to log out and log back in evert 5 - 10 minutes just to make sure that I can post as normal and if needed edit my posts as I have a few I want to edit (or did at one point) and can't because of this minor annoyance.....of an issue....

Option: You still have available the reported post symbol. Our Staff can still EDIT your posts for you if needed. Just click on the symbol and tell us which thread and what you want changed.

I know, however I am trying not to impose or bother those involved as I am sure they have more important things to worry about or do then to worry about little ol' me

Not bothersome or imposing. It's not your fault we're having this glitch (or any member) and we want to make sure we help as much as possible while they figure it out

I'm still showing up as a guest even though I have been a member over two years with over 500 posts. I guess the only problem that I have had is vendors not being able to send me messages.

Seems to be working now! Whoever fixed it, thanks, I can edit my posts.

It is difficult to truly express the appreciation for the mods/admins for what they do for free here, but thanks.
