Help!! Please update your account to enable 3rd party hosting

I'm getting the following on a lot of pages and I'm not sure how to fix this. There is a message where pictures are supposed to be that says:

"PLEASE UPDATE YOUR ACCOUNT TO ENABLE 3RD PARTY HOSTING" Then there is a graphic of a gauge in the center of the pic then at the bottom it says "FOR IMPORTANT INFO, PLEASE GO TO Your access to 3rd party hosting is temporarily disabled.

Hey,

This has got to do with Photobucket now charging for 3rd party hosting. This means that any image that was previously hosted on Photobucket will now appear as that broken link.

Listed of Possible Off site Photo storage candidates:

Flickr
Tumblr
Google+
Blogspot
Snapfish
Shutterfly
Photoblog
Minds
Kinja
Imgbb

Note: Many of the above sites are either social networks, blogs which users can post images with a short description and link images to to their post here, but aren't considered to be Photo storage sites. One site in particular PhotoBlog, I've been contact with the site host and offered a few submissions. One being the site requires member to enter in too much data before actually being able to post images. I informed the site host that All I wanted is something calls a blogroll just posting images without having to create fully details caption or title.

Important: The objective of using many of these off site photo storage service is that most do not auto generate url link to you images. Locate the "share" option to acquire your image links or simply open you image in a separate window by right clicking on the image from your storage location.

IE: "Open Image In New Tab" By opening the image this way, it will localize the image url, then copy paste the image in your post here. IF the image still doesn't redirect or post in your topic, the site you've linked the image from, may not allow said third party redirects.

Edit:

Just curious as to how the admin/mods will best approach the danged threads with no images.. I would suspect that if it's an official build thread and this may take some time, members can either request a thread delete or request to have their thread left open for editing then reassign images from other hosting services.

This is just one reason I did not link personal images into my build threads in fear that images would disappear, which has happen before and continues to happen now. This is all things members need to consider when posting images in threads.. they can and will be removed at any time.

There's not easy way around this, except pay $399.00 to upgrade your Photobucket account, thus your images would return. But I don't advice this, Unless you feel its a good investment.

Just thought I would add to your list;

https://imgbb.com/

This site does generate the link so you can click on the copy button. It seems to work just fine but I have very little experience with it. Just signed-up today. What I like about this site is it is very minimalist and easy to use. In addition, they don't require much info to get started.

That is a nice list you put together! Thanks, I may try some of them as well.

@Phototrek I'm really pulling that Photoblog adjust their site as to allow for a blogroll of sort. Currently one has to enter in a "story" just to get to a post where you can post an image. But afterwards, you have to create another story and post another image.. A blogroll allows you to continue where you left off without having to create something over and over again.

The easiest way to define this would be to create a tumblr account. If one can work past the childish nature of the "hipster" images, tumblr's site has the blog roll I'm speaking about. Simply post where you left off without adding anymore information.

When I first saw this, I thought all the images I had shared on this site and two others were disconnected, but they were not. I have less than 10% of my free 2 GB used and for this type account 3rd party sharing still works. If you go over the 2GB limit, then there are three paid levels, but only the $400 level (102-500GB storage) allows 3rd party sharing.

I am going to post photos directly from now on.

I am nowhere near the 2GB limit. I think it indicated 25% usage on the free account but none of my photos are showing-up in this forum.

I believe this is a major sign that they are desperate. I've been noticing a trend of annoying pop up ads, followed by this.

The writing is on the wall, this is the beginning of the end of photobucket. Their only real hope is that someone like Google buys them out and restores this service without holding long time users with a ransom note.

This is correct. Only the top level tier service from Photobucket will permit images to show up on forums, which is the $39/month subscription.

This article sums up all the related details and misconception concerns pretty well.

I don't think Google+ allows images to be displayed on forum websites. From my understanding, you can only post a public accessible link that allows someone to view the photo after clicking on the link, which is not ideal.

Unless someone has some steps I'm not aware of? I would love to use Google, I doubt they'll become vaporware like many of these sites tend to become over time. I'm surprised it took Photobucket this long.

Awesome!!! Now, I need to figure out how to do that. I tried in the past and didn't get the intended results.

@rednroll Post an image in your G+ profile, Right click the image, "Open Image In New Tab" In the browser URL copy the image URL. So unless your image sharing has been turned off or set to as "private".. (adjustment located in your "setting" or at the time of posting adjust the share options to "Public") the image can be shared as I've posted above.

Thanks!!!
I think where I'm confused is with the differences between Google+ and Google Drive. So it seems like I can display images from Google+, but I can't do the same if I chose to share an image that was located on my Google Drive.

K just found out the reason Google Drive doesn't work in the typically manor of sharing your images. Mainly the generated code of your image which isn't listed as a .JPG or .PNG and because it's not a typical image code it can't be added here, unless the forum amends image posting options as to allow the Google drive image code system.

So other forum sites actually do have a long list of possible image codes or links users can select from. often this just means posting the image link in the text field and the forums system does the rest.

Thanks, that makes sense. That's exactly what I was speculating was the case, because I noticed no ".jpg" at the end of the sharable links.

Image from Google Drive

Here's what's happening If one is login, they can't get the code (persay) Opening a secondary browser (not the one you're login with IE Chrome) one can copy the share Link to the image in the second browser. This will open the image link via Google Drive, But you will need to again right click the image and copy the shared link displayed in the browser URL slot.

The forum's software sees this new displayed link as a "web site image" thus the image is displayed accordingly.

Nope, not seeing it.

It's looking like the forum is killing the link you tried to create on my end.

The only problem I'm seeing with using Google+ is with the lack of ability of organizing images.

I created a profile called "Shared" and posted the image but I'm not able to create sub profiles/sub folder structures.

Would like to create folder structures such as:
Shared>JK Wrangler>Lift
Shared>JK Wrangler>Onboard Air
Shared>JK Wrangler>Steering
etc.

Image Hosting on EzPhoto

Just wanted to point out, that IF your share setting are nor set to the "public" view no one would be able to see the images.

Your second question: While using Google+ Albums would need to be created before posting any image or they will simple be place in a void area. I believe once you upload one image, you can assign the image into an album or create an album along the way and move the image accordingly

I definitely had the shared settings checked as you showed.

The above method seems to work for posting Google drive images, but generating the link is a bit cumbersome.

Although, Google+ seems easier to initially post forum images I'm having a hard time getting my head around it. I created a profile, posted the image to that profile, then go back into that profile and the image is not shown within the profile anymore but is shown on the top level where it shows to create profiles. I guess, it's kind of like vaporware as far as organization of images. Profiles seem like buckets to me, where You just throw images into a created bucket and it automatically grants the privileges to the image of who can see the images.

Since there seems to be a solution in using Google Drive, I'm going to give that a try and see if there's any problems I run into along the way on other forums. I back up my phone photos to My google drive, so that should make things easier in sharing particular photos.
