Cool How to Get More Responses to a Post?

I'm new to the forums. I've notice that some forums generate heavy traffic right off the moment of the initial post. Others sit ideal, responded to or viewed.

I recently post a forum which feel into the low traffic category. I was really hoping to some feedback on the question I posed. When I saw that it had no real traffic over the weekend I thought I'd reach out for advice. I'm concerned that the longer it site, the further down the forum list it will drop and never be seen again.

As I mentioned before, I'm new so I don't want to violate any unspoken rules of the forums. Is it bad to repost your unread forums in a new forum? I posted a question to to the general forums but perhaps it would have been better served in the tech forum. I'm not sure if posting it twice is bad mojo.

Maybe my title was to convoluted and people past on it. I can't edit it so should I repost with a new subject?

Does it help to go in and respond to my own post so it moves back up the forum list?

Any advice you frequent posters could provide would be appreciated.

Thanks

Hey there,

Can you send us the URL of that thread?
We'll manually move it to where you want it to be

Ed

Thanks but no need. Apparently all I needed to get some responses was to get it posted correctly. My bad. Operator error.

One of the admins caught it and moved it already. Now its getting plenty of traffic.

Thanks again.

Other than it being posted in the correct section,If your having say,a oil leak. Sometimes putting pics in the thread, and mentioning in the title,"pics included" also helps.
Sometimes just getting a thread started with someone posting a single response gets things going.
And if unsure about your thread PM a mod or admin,we are glad to help.
