Posting Problem in The Market Place

I have sent multiple messages on the forum "contact us" link, but have yet to get a response.

I have been a member for 2 years and have a total of 19 posts (unless this one counts for 20). I am attempting to list a few items for sale in The Market Place, but I continue to get the error that I don't have sufficient permission to do so.

I have cleared my cookies in my browser and have even attempted to post using two web browsers I had never used before. I continue to get the error.

From what I have read in other posts, once I reach 15 posts, I should be able to post in The Market Place. Can someone with the forum website please help me resolve this issue?

Thanks in advance.

I'm having the same issue, and I'm in the right section with the required posts. I've logged out, cleared my cache and everything else.

I have tried in both "Wanted" and in "TJ Parts". I'm hoping to score a deal on some front seat belts that are OEM before I buy non-OEM ones.

I keep getting the same messages every time I try to post in the JK parts for sale section.

This page isn’t working www.wranglerforum.com is currently unable to handle this request.
HTTP ERROR 500

It appears I can't create a new thread but it allows me to add to a current thread like this.

Cleared cache and cookies.

I’ve been trying repeatedly for like 8 hours to post the same thread. It just now finally worked with no doing on my part. So hopefully the issue has resolved itself.

Tried to post in there this AM, and it would just sit there and not post to the forum, I was assuming there was an issue, but I'm on a lap top, but I've used the same one to post before,

It must be a server side issue. If this helps, my time zone reset itself three times yesterday and I had to go into my CP and fix it.

Strange,

Can you copy and paste the thread title and body here?
I'll give this a test on my end and see if I can replicate it.

Here’s one I’ve been trying from various platforms and devices since yesterday. Just tried again so I could grab a screenshot. On iOS it just shows “an error has occurred” but on a computer it’ll show as the HTTP 500 cannot handle request error.

it is has been reported to AG so nothing anymore a mod can do. It is in the hands of the man behind the curtain.

Hello there,

Is this only happening on enhanced mobile view?
Do you get the same issue on desktop view?
Also, can you test something for me? If you can take out the word "bumper", will that go through?

This will help me pinpoint the issue.

Ed

It eventually just worked. I had tried several version of that post. Different titles, content, attachments or no attachments. To answer your question though no, it wasn't just mobile. It happened from the following (with this thread, another a few days ago, and a few attempts to reply):

iPhone 7 on iOS 12.1.3 w/ Safari
HP Laptop on Windows 10 w/ IE & Chrome
HP Laptop on Ubuntu 18 w/ Chrome (latest version)
Dell Desktop on Ubuntu 18 w/ Chrome
Work Desktop on Windows 10 w/ IE & Chrome

4 devices, 3 internet connection, 1 mobile connection, several browsers, 3 operating systems. With all of those i wiped everything out, restarted, etc. I disabled all extensions and content blockers. Rebooted modems and routers. Just about anything I could think of.

The only insight i can offer is the time being shown on posts here on the forum never matches the correct time for my time zone (Central) and the setting for it keeps changing randomly in my CP. When the CP setting changes about 75% of the time this issue starts again and usually sticks around for about 7-8 hours.

So in theory, if something is out of wack with the server time or the time the server is getting in a post submission vs what it expects, the server may er on the side of caution and shut down the request. I've been out of the server/forum game for a long time, now i am just a single dad with a cigar and Jeep addiction. Back when I would deal with this stuff and 500 errors would pop up it was almost always some kind of a random issue like a mismatch in the php.ini, time, etc. Maybe the host made some tiny little tweak or upgrade?

I'm new around here so take any of my suggestions with a grain of salt I know nothing. And on those "amazon" and other "you've won" pop ups they are all over the net and seem to target Safari more than anything. A user can easily prevent them with a content blocker. I use "StopAd". Just install it from the apple store, then Settings -> Safari -> Content Blockers and tick it on.

Hope this all helps somehow.
