It takes maybe 5-10 seconds for me to get redirected to anything on this site. You guys okay over there?

Hey there,

Can you please provide us with more information?
What device and browser are you using when you come across these slowdowns?
Does this happen all over the site or in specific areas of the site?

Richard.

It happens all over the site clicking on internal links that lead to forums and such.

I am using both Tapatalk on Android 7.1.1 and Chrome on Windows 10 and it happens on both. I ran a tracert to see if there were any hangups and the response time at the 6th hop jumps to 39ms. The remaining 6 hops have a response time of 38-42ms.

Hey,

Do you notice a pattern with the times of the day that you notice the site speed slowing down? Do you have any addons on your Chrome browser?

Same here, every link I click on to get directed too a thread takes around 5-10 seconds to load, no matter what time of day I am on the site.
I have a 100mb internet connection and using Fire Fox.

No add ons on the chrome browser. I tried the site using Edge and Firefox and it still takes a while to load.

And happens throughout the day.

Hey guys,

Do you happen to notice anything hanging in the status bar (normally found on the bottom left hand corner of your browser)? It should say something like 'Waiting on...' or 'Connecting to...'

In my case, the loading bar at the top of the browser acts like it reloads many times. Even while typing this message the reloading bar keeps sweeping across the top of the browser.
Only happens on this site and all areas of this site.

I'm on Samsung tablet galexy pro using chrome.

same here, been thinking of starting a thread on it. I'm using macbook pro, using chrome. Page loads have been painfully slow for as long as i can remember. Of all the websites i visit daily, this one always makes me wonder whats up.

All times of day or night for me

Have 200mbps download speed here, most websites are blazing fast loads here.

Can you guys double check you are using the most recent versions of your browsers and that there are no updates available, and then clear cookies and cache? Was seeing this issue myself, but updating resolved it for me

Is the site Administration really saying that they are unable to replicate this and see how slow the site is? All that one would have to do is view the site from a non logged in status.
Saying that the site is only slow for non-paying viewers is an excuse, this is the only site that is slow for me and I view several web forums similar to this and they are all free.

I think it must be relate to all the adds on the site.
The content is great, but I do admit that visit less than normal just because of the hassle of the slow site.

Hey,

site slowness is not all related to ads, while they do take affect since there are a lot loaded for members not logged in and guests.

however I don't understand the reason why users would rather not log in and only do so when commenting on posts.

If it's privacy on the forum, you can edit your privacy status to prevent others from seeing if you're logged in: https://www.wranglerforum.com/profile.php?do=privacy

To that end, what load times are you seeing under those circumstances? And as was brought up before what is the site hanging on for you "waiting for..."?
Lastly the Galaxy Tab Pro, would that be the Windows version or the Droid?

HelenaAG - Hope this helps. I'm seeing packet loss upstream/in the middle provider when I'm observing the path from my home network and my office. Here's a somewhat scrubbed traceroute (I'm omitting my internal lan and other identifying details, no loss was observed in my network nor my ISP's) and details (first number is percentage of packet loss, pinging every second, mtu was 64):

I was only saying to try logging in while not signed to see what the load times are.
I'm almost always logged in (my browser keeps me logged in) but it's still super slow.
Regarding the Galaxy Tab Pro, I'm using the android version.
I use two browsers, one is chrome, and I also use Lastpass, both are the same speed.

To the admin, if you view the site not logged in, is the sit slow for you? I only say to try it not logged in so you will see it the same as all the free site members.

Thanks.

Update: On the Jeep JK Tech Forum I clicked on a thread that has 1 reply and it's still "Waiting for www.wranglerforum.com"

What else has to be loaded? It's just text.

I've noticed since Day 1 this site is EXTREMELY slow to load pages. I've tried on multiple browsers on different OS's and it is the same on all of them. It's even more painful on Apple iOS.

Thought it was just a slow/overloaded site.

I'm not actually experiencing slowness(this is relative) on my browser not logged in. I'm not using any adblock. I do have bitdefender on though and I'm on Chrome, using the latest update as well.

as I've mentioned before, what is slow for you guys? if you timed it?
keep in mind that your computer and browsers heavily dictate how the speed of a browser goes as well. and if you're comparing this site to another, please give us an example so that we can relate as well.

so are you using tapatalk when this happens or on your win10|chrome browser?

on the browser, how many tabs do you have open belonging to the forum and other tabs?

make sure to keep your Chrome browser updated.

On Windows 10, my OS and Chrome are fully updated with no tabs and no add on of any kind.

On my Android phone it's Tapatalk. Takes same amount of time to load the one reply thread as Chrome on Windows 10

Here's a trace route once more. Tried it with other sites that I frequent that also use vBulletin and their average latency is not as bad as the avg latency test to WF.

Hey there,

What browser and device are you using?
Have you done the basic cache and cookie clear?

Basic cache and cookie clear
Re-installed Windows 10 on computer
Tried it on my macbook pro from 2013 and 2016
Tried it at different places (like McD, Starbucks, parents house, school)
on 5 different browsers (Opera, IE, Safari, Firefox, Chrome)

and the sites load extremely slowly. This is the only site that uses vBulletin for forums that loads this slowly for me.

While I know some things on the user end can be done to improve loading and other issues, this site is FAR beyond that.

I am on several Vertical Scope sites. I am a paying Vendor on some of them. I would not be happy if those sites took this long to load. I have actually simply exited this site and went somewhere else while waiting for pages to load.

I added an adblocker extension. Didn't want to as I pay for advertising and know that blockers keep forum members from seeing them. While that helped, it still is way too slow. I often see well over 30 ads blocked on each page. Something is wrong if there are that many......

I run Chrome and Win 10.

Just checked a few pages here. Fastest was 3 seconds. Slowest was 10 seconds.

Went over to another Vertical Scope site, stromtroopers.com, and I dont get "one thousand one" out before page is loaded.

I would say that is typical of the comparison of this site and others.
