Slow to receive email notifications.

Recently all my email notifications of private messages or quoted posts have slowed down. I would receive them previously a few minutes after a PM or quote but now it is a few hours it seems? I have a Yahoo account but I have been receiving messages from other forums and regular email without any delay.

Is it something here?

Yeah I noticed that too. Notifications arenít coming though and I checked my phone/app settings.

I see that your email notifications are set to daily and PM notifications are set to yes (I don't know if it's instant)

you may need to check with your email provider about this, your email provider likes to ban us every so often.
but in case that's not the case, you should also add [email protected] and [email protected]

Thank you Lee,

I will look into it. Yes, I did set the thread notifications so they would come in over night but I always received PM and Quotes within a few minutes. I think it has been that way since I've been a member of the forum.

To give you an idea of the delay I received the email notification at 2:57 pm today for this quoted post.

Thanks for the details Rich. I had a look at the site settings and everything seems to be in place so the delay is likely on the end of your email provider. Hopefully Lee's suggestion to add [email protected] and [email protected] will do the trick. Let us know if the problem persists.

Just wondering why I did not receive the daily feed of new posts today? Did anyone else have this happen today? This is the first thing I read every morning.

You've disabled "Receive Admin Emails"

Good Morning,

Once again no new posts message in my inbox. Where can I find "Receive Admin Emails" etc. in my profile? I would like to be able to fix issues like this should they occur. BTW I really enjoy the forum and find it to be very helpful in keepin' me jeepin'!

Not sure if you already added the email addresses that Lee mentioned. Your account checks out when I look at it in my control panel. To get to your control panel you can click this link; https://www.wranglerforum.com/my-jeep-profile/
Then look to the left hand side of the screen, it will have a list of links for controlling your account.

Sorry to hear about the delay in the notifications folks. The settings in the back end all seem to be correct, so I'm wondering if the delays are in relation to your email providers or perhaps related to general site slowness that has been reported on WF (Case #2988931). Did anyone try following Lee's suggestion in post #4?

still no "daily feed". sometimes I do get updates on posts I replied to. it's been a couple of weeks now. did becoming a supporting member change something?

no. that's the only one. it had been working fine since Feb 2017. how do I "add [email protected] and [email protected]"? I put them in my address book, but that didn't do anything.

that's depending what email server you use.
@RichL35 Yahoo is known to block or slow down our email from time to time. We sometimes get users marking us as spam since the email is coming from @vsobr.com instead of wranglerforum or something. The might not realize that it's us.

same as above. I use Outlook, and the only way I could see to "add" any addresses was to create a "rule" to add messages from [email protected] to my inbox. that makes no sense as it had been working for a year + without having to do anything. should I call my provider?

I was just on another site in our network where I had a user with an Outlook email address not getting emails. Two sites doesn't necessarily make a pattern, but still raises a flag.

Yes, you should definitely try and contact Outlook. If we have been flagged as a spam source by them, they will respond to those actually using their service better then the company wanting to get unblocked.

Hi, same issues for me. I went to safari, my seldom used browser, and attempted to sign up for emails as a new, and non-member, subscriber. The reply was that the publisher had turned off the email subscriptions...or words to that effect. Hope this helps resolve this issue since I miss my daily update. Thanks.

This is odd indeed! I had a look at the settings in the back end and don't see anything out of place/out of the ordinary. At this point, I'm wondering if there is anyone who IS receiving the daily email notifications? If so, we could take a closer look at their account settings and see what is different than anyone else. Anyone know of any members who have not had this issue?
