Tagging multiple people in a post

Recently re-did my sticky'ed post in the JK General subforum (So you want to buy a JK/U? Here's how to save!), and tried to tag the participants of the old thread. IIRC, about 100 people in all. I used the proper "@username" syntax, but it seems like nobody got the mention, and usernames aren't showing up bold like they normally would from that action. Is it just an issue with the quantity of tags in one post, or is there some other requirement for tagging to work?
