Thread date

Curious, a few other forums I frequent have a feature that I like and think would be useful here. Under the thread title where the user name of the person who started the thread is it also shows the date and time it was started. Just like the date and time is shown by the last person to post in that thread.

Sometimes it is nice to know, for some reason there seems to be threads where someone asks a question like "is this a good price for a JKU" and you open the thread to find it is 5 years old. Not sure why some get on a five year old thread and put an answer in there but it brings it to the top. Just a thought, didn't know if that is something that could be possible or not???

Hey there,

Just want to confirm, the issue is that when you open a thread, it is an old thread? but it is brought the top because someone replied to it?

That is exactly what he means although I can't really see where this info would possibly be posted unless it was at the end of the thread title as an automatic tag. Even if that were to be done, the info would probably not show in some of the longer titled threads.

edit another possibility would be to work with the envelope icon beside the title. Possibly have a color to specify that a thread is over a year old.

He means the way some forums like the neptune systems support forums does it. It's posted as a second (smaller font) line directly underneath the title. Here's a link to an example:

Yes that it what I was talking about, partly because of old threads and it comes I handy in some of the more general threads as well. Just a thought...

Hey there,

I have sent in a ticket to see if it's possible.
We can't guarantee that it will work but let's hope the tech team can find a solution.
Ticket: #2989151
