Angry Where do I leave feedback for a 'buyer'?

I had agreed to sell some HID headlights to a buyer here, but had a terrible experience. He's unable to install them, and has filed a Paypal claim, saying they're not as described.

For his incompetence, and reluctance to find someone competent, I've now got a frozen Paypal account! How do I warn other sellers on this board?

Sorry to hear that and hope it gets straightened out- most of the guys here are great and we often trust each other to ship things and pay each other as agreed.

No doubt, I have sold a bunch of stuff on here. Had lots of parts left over after I sold my Jeep, and every transaction to date has gone very smoothly. Great group of very friendly folks here, for the most part.

He's claiming that there is no way that the lights I pulled out of my JKU, will fit into his JKU. :smh:

What headlights? I know for a fact some aftermarket headlights do not fit well as I had a set of the Razor led's that just did not fit the stock buckets.

I would contact PayPal and explain that he still has the lights and that they were exactly what you said they were. Until you have your lights back in your hands the payment stands. Tell them that if/when you get them back, you will issue a refund. I'm sure they can review your history and his to see reputations.

They're the Morimoto Sealed7 HID projector retrofit kit. The very same kit that I had installed in my own '14 JKU, then my '16 JKU AE - so I know for a fact that they fit.

I get all that, but they can still take up to thirty days to make a decision. In addition, they lock the funds immediately, before making any decision at all.

Are you unable to do business until this is resolved?

Fortunately, it's not a business account, so it's not impacting my livelihood- but my personal funds are locked up. It's just a huge annoyance, and an unexpected outcome from what was expected to be a painless, hassle-free transaction.

From now on, I'll only be accepting Paypal gift payments from members that aren't established WF folks.

Sorry to hear that's happened, but as you said at least it isn't a business account. Keep us posted with the outcome of this situation.

Best of luck,
Nate

Is there a feedback section on the board? Can I name the user here?

There are at least two sides to every story and we are unable to hear the buyer's version, so here's my two cents:

It is pointless to get into a pissing contest over whether or not the buyer is incompetent or whether the headlights are as described. I would take the high road by offering to authorize a full refund upon the buyer's return of the headlights in undamaged condition, with buyer to pay the return shipping. Then run a new ad and sell them to someone else.

In the future, keep photos of the items you are selling to prove fitment, condition, consistency with descriptions in ads, etc. Also, I question the propriety of you demanding that buyers pay by "gift" or "friends and family" so that they loose all recourse in the event of a dispute. The merchant fee that you pay so that buyers can have confidence in you as a seller should be built into the selling price. I know that I would never transfer money to a stranger by Paypal as a "gift" rather than as a purchase.

Posting the buyers name would get this thread removed from the public board.

We offer the classifieds as a free service to our members. All transactions are between the buyer and seller. We do not have any control over what happens. As always it is buyer/seller beware.

We have a minimum post in place to help prevent those who are only here to take advantage of this service from doing so without first contributing to the forum.

As Mr. Bill mentioned, there are 2 sides to every story and debating it here on the public forum may get you sympathy but, it will not resolve the issue.

To the posters above, I get all that. It's being handled with PayPal- just wanted to know if we had a feedback area that I had overlooked/couldn't find.

I had these same lights (not similar, not another set, these *exact* units) installed in my '14 first, then my '16, so for the buyer to tell me that 'there's no way they'll fit' is a bit ridiculous.

They're the damn lights that are in my profile photo/avatar. Lol.

It's all settled. No worries.

If by 'settled', you mean that PayPal sided with the buyer, who returned the items to me, but filled out the customs paperwork incorrectly, and would have cost me $159 in duties and taxes to get my items back' - the buyer has screwed me out of a complete HID retrofit kit and LED fog lights, and has kept every penny - then yes, 'it is settled'.

Just a warning to other paypal sellers, you have ZERO protections if your buyer claims the items are not exactly as described (even if it's their incompetence, and nothing to do with the actual item- as was the case here).
