'17 Sahara loose door glass question

Recently purchased a '17 Sahara. The full door window glass is loose and can be moved back and forth in the frame when half way rolled down. This is not the case for my '13 Rubicon. Service manager says this is normal and that the Rubicon's are made tougher.
BS meter went off so wanted to check with the team here. Is your '17 Sahara glass loose in the frame?

Also, is your wiper motor exposed under the hood looking towards the windshield? Is there no cowling to cover that?

Hi dpape,
I understand that you are reaching out to your fellow forum members for guidance. However, if you believe your vehicle is not operating as designed, and decide to visit another dealer to have this looked into, feel free to loop us in via PM. We'd be happy to connect you with a Case Specialist if needed.

The wiper motor is UNDER the cowl, but the front of the are is open to the engine compartment. Probably for access.

I can't say about the window, but that does not sound correct.

The comment about rubicon’s being built tougher is BS, but my glass can move back and forth when rolled down.

Glass is just clipped into the bottom so it is possible it could move back and forth counting on how tight the tracks are. As long and it does not move up and down you should be good to go.

I honestly don't see how someone wouldn't laugh in someone's face upon hearing that.

"True story brah, Rubi windows are made at a special plant where they also made the explosion and bullet resistant windows for the HMMWV!"

its a plastic clip with a notch that holds the window in. Probably bent or broken when installed at the factory. to see how to get at it see this vid:
