2007 Jk clicking noise

Hey guys I have had my jeep for about 4 years now and this issue did not start for about the first year and a half. One day while living on the east coast driving to school i noticed a weird clicking noise. It use to happen just when applying the brakes but now it does it even when driving. It gets louder as I turn to. it is not to loud when driving but I can hear it and it is extremely loud clicking noise when i press the brakes. Sometime ( randomly) it will not make the noise when braking but more often then not it will. I have been to dealership and shop after shop and been told so many things and paid so much money and still not had the problem fixed. Has anyone else encounter this issue or does anyone know any fixes or what it might be? Thanks for the help!

I have heard about U joints and try to work on my own jeep but having a hard time with it lately. How will I know if the U joints have gone bad?

Wrap your hand around the joint. Rock the jeep by the tire, and Feel for any play in the joint.
Or Jack up the front of the jeep. Turn the steering wheel fully left and right. Spin the tires and listen for any noises. I believe a joint that's completely toast will prevent the tire from freely spinning.

try putting it in 4wd and put it under load...try accelerating quickly and see if you get a louder clacking type noise in 4wd..i had similar issues and it was the CV Joint on the front drive shaft at the transfer case
