2008 JK Stuck throttle/engine speed at idle.

Hi,

I recently purchased a 2008 JK. Last week I had it inspected and in the shop to do some repairs including a new intake manifold gasket. I only drove for a few hours since getting it and taking it to the shop but did not experience this problem so far as I can tell.

Since driving it home from the shop, I noticed that occasionally I will stop at a light and when I step on the clutch, the engine speed will come down to 2200 RPM and will either stay there for 6 or 7 seconds or stay there as long as I do not step on the gas. It doesn't do it all of the time, but once it starts it does it much more often.

It 'seems' to do it after 20 or 30 minutes of driving and after I turn a corner, but can't be sure if this isn't a coincidence.

Is there a chance this could be caused by a vacuum leak in the intake manifold gasket? If not what else could it be (TPS?, Dirty throttle body etc). I also had the main engine seal replaced but can't imagine that has anything to do with it.

Thanks for any opinions.

The throttle itself is computer control (throttle by wire) so I am gonna say sounds like a vacuum leak.

Thanks JTPhoto, based on the work done I think that is it as well. I'm taking it back to the shop tomorrow for another look. I will post here with the results if the technician can find the problem, in case someone else has this issue.
