Smile 2010 Rubicon coming soon

Hey fellas,

New member but looking for some advise. Ive got a 2010 Rubicon waiting for me when i graduate college. So...where to start. Well I'm a car guy and flip/work/swap parts and make money off them on the side.

My question is a two part and has two different categories.

1. I want to put a light bar on the jeep, but how many really is overkill? (1 on the hood for spot, 1 on the bumper for fog. Also, assume i get a new steel bumper.) Im a practical guy not gonna put more than needed.

2. I want to line-x/Rhino line my flares but not sure if there is a better way to do it? I don't want any other than stock but these have started fading, so i want them to stay black and durable.

Welcome to the forum!! I have a feeling your first question may start a bit of a debate.
First off, if you aren't aware stock headlights suck. Period. I have Rigid's A pillar lights and find them more than adequate for my needs. Some will disagree but IMO there is such a thing as lighting overkill (bumper/hood/lightbar/a pillar). if you do hood don't do A pillar for example. Bumper and A pillar always looked good to me. IF you aren't familiar with Rigid lights I suggest you check out their product line.
second, I like the direction on the line-x/Rhino flares. but IIRC there was some posts on here of others doing it and creating a issue on keeping the black overtime....which would defeat the purpose you are considering it, well half the purpose.

'07 JKU Sahara Teraflex 2.5" TF BB, 16" MB TKO's, 315/75r16 Cooper STT Pros, VDP stubby bumper, Rigid Dually A pillar LED's, WP outter cowl covers, ace rock rails 4.10 gears, AT, antennaX antenna, smittybuilt seatcovers and some plastidip.

Awesome replay. I knew it would start something ha but I'm looking at doing the lights and bumper at the same time. i can add the bars later.

20" on the Bumper.
20" on the Hood.
7" Led lights. (will pick a brand later.)

I Hunt a lot and want a functional driver without looking like a zombie jeep but also have functionality that would help me driving. (Bumper with fog bar.)

Personally I'm not a fan of all the LED lighting overkill that everyone puts on their jeeps. They serve a great purpose if they're used, but too often people put them on for looks. I'd do the headlights and the bumper one because I think they'd both serve a great purpose but the hood one might be overkill and not necessary. I always do my upgrades one step at a time; maybe later you'll find you do need one for the hood, or maybe you'll discover it would've been a waste of money.

Instead of lineX'ing the flares, you can probably find fairly new stock ones for free or very cheap, as take offs from some going to tube flairs
