2012 jku saharah and 2 pcm..

Hi, little bit annoyed, at the maintenance for the wrangler, even though still under warranty, I am on my 2nd PCM, 3 rd batt and 2nd alternator.

Not sure my old 86 mk patrol would have done that in its while life span.

I bought the wrangler brand new in 2012, anyone else had any if these issues? I am asking as my warranty is coming to an end (60k kilometres) and am starting to get rather worried about bills that will come when outside of warranty..

I would be concerned as well.

WOW, this is very unusual.....

Unfortunately in life, sometimes we just purchase a commodity, that just keep failing.
It sounds like your Dealer, is not diagnosing, as to what is causing your failures, but rather just replacing parts.

I would call Chrysler/Jeep Technical Service, and explain your justified concern!

I normally don't believe in extended warranties, but in your case, I think that it maybe justified.......
Maybe, Chrysler/Jeep, and or your Dealer, will participate in some of the EW costs!

That's why I bought a lifetime bumper-to-bumper warranty on our 2013 Sahara. If you're concerned with potential problems after your factory warranty runs out and this PCM thing still isn't fixed send a PM to ClayR on here. He sells Chrysler extended warranties for a fraction of what they are at your local dealer.

I guess that doesn't fix the problem you're having with your Jeep but at least you won't be stuck with a high repair bill after your 3/36 factory warranty expires.

PCM's die, alternators die, what's going on with the battery ? I mean, they don't just cut out -do they ?

You have a obvious electrical issue. Maybe a short somewhere. Last time seeing a jeep eating Pcm's ... The tech finally was able to locate a frayed wire.

Thanks for the info guys, yeah really happy with the truck, xcept for this issue. I picked up the car yesterday and told them that regardless if the car is out of warranty, if the alternator/pm's stuff up again, before 5 years/100k, then I want it replaced parts and labour for free..

This caused a bit of a ruckusss on the floor of the maint joint, but in the end the floor manager agreed.

Bloody hell...
