2014 Jk Unlimited TIPM Issues

Hi everyone, I'm new here, i decided to come in here and share my experience with Jeep in Australia so far.

My partner and i always wanted to buy the Wrangler, it was and still our dream car, after a few years of thinking about it and saving the money for it we bought one Jk Unlimited 4 Doors on Anvil, beautiful car, we were very excited and couldn't wait to take for a 4x4 around.

As we are on our way to the 4x4 tracks we realised that 4hi and 4lo wouldn't work nothing would happen as if the gear stick was loose, i had a look under the car and it was just a matter of connecting the cable for the gears up in the slot, and off we went. That made us a bit upset because was a brand new car and that was a stupid thing, how come they forget to do that??? anyway... after a couple of weeks the car was great we were really enjoying the new ride, we took it for the 1000kms inspection and on that night our car got stolen from our home, thankfully the cops found the car, apparently whoever stole the car couldn't drive a manual and so they left the car about 4 blocks away from our home, but the damage on the gear box was very bad and so our insurance company wrote the car off and gave us a new one, now on white which was the colour we wanted since the beginning but didn't want to wait for it as it would take 3 months.

Anyway after waiting 3 and half weeks we got our white brand new wrangler last thursday, very happy with it until last sunday, after coming from the coast we stopped at the shops to grab some food, left the car running cause my wife was waiting in the car and when i come back, she said that the AC had stopped working and the Temperature light was on followed by a beep, the car was overheating very fast, so as soon as saw that i turned the car off, called jeep roadside assistance and they told us to toll the car to the dealership.

Now apparently our problem was the TIPM, it was gone or failing as they said we now wait for another week to get the part shipped in so it can get fixed...

We just can't believe that all that is happening with us, we thought it was a good buy, but after all these events we are more and more disappointed and really dont know what to expect in the future...

Just wanted to share my experience with Jk Jeeps so far, which hasn't been that great yet!!!

Cant help you with the other issues but it is taboo to call a Jeep Wrangler a "car".

This right here is the source of all your problems. You cursed it from the get go, now the Jeep god is angry.

in all actuality, bad luck is bad luck regardless of the car (JEEP) you buy, there is always going to be hiccups, especially with a new car.

I have a 2007 and it still runs smooth. Slow as all hell, but smooth. Think of it as little quirks that make it you'rs and you two will grow together as you overcome these difficulties.

I'm at the end of a long shift. I'm no help. sorry.

The overheating could easily be part of a known issue and the dealer should be able to fix it fast. Some of the 2014 Jeeps didn't have the fan setting work right so they overheated.

Use the search in the upper right corner and search both the tech forum and general JK forums for better luck. Welcome to the Jeep family, if you keep calling it a car I'm sure someone will remind you that a kitten dies every time you call your Jeep a car.. Have fun driving in Oz!
