2015 jeep uconnect mopar radio theft code?

Does anyone know where I can obtain the theft code on a 2105 mopar uconnect radio?

Thanks

from a dealer. You will need to most likely bring the radio with the vehicle it came out of to the dealer.

So the radio can be disconnected from the jeep or needs to still be installed to get the code from dealer? (I ask cause I'm replacing my factory HU and plan to sell it later).

I would call your local jeep service department and see what they want. I have heard people have had trouble after removing them while others say they have gotten the code with the radio in hand with proof they own the jeep (not just the radio ie a bill of sale wont work with the radio alone I guess) I would find out before removing it never the less.

Any idea how many digits/characters long is the code? Just want to make sure I get the right thing from dealer.

Check with these guys. They used to offer a code retrieval service.

I would wait until you get the new radio. The dealer will need your vin and the serial number from the sticker on the top of the radio to get the code. So you're not pulling it out just to get the serial number and then putting it back in til you get your new radio. For mine, I installed a new radio and then just drove in to the local dealer and the supervisor at the parts department did it for free.

And the code can be passed down to the next buyer and the next, assuming that my buyer sells the radio to someone else, the second buyer uses the same code?

I already have the new radio but I am hesitant to install it just in case the dealer wants to see the original radio working on the original vehicle first, as suggested above..

When I went in I was carrying the old radio and told them I needed the anti theft code. I think as long as they have the VIN and the serial number to key it into the system it shouldn't be a problem.

Sorry but I do not understand what is going on here.
I am putting in an aftermarket head unit in my JK.

Is there something I need to do with the factory radio?

I dont plan on reusing or selling the factory HU

What you're missing is that this thread has nothing to do with installing an aftermarket radio. An anti-theft code is need when installing a factory head unit in a different vehicle. You don't need to worry about this with an aftermarket unit.
Desert_Fox likes this.
