255/80 R17 on Stock Suspension and Wheels

Has anyone done this? I am curious, where does it rub and under what circumstances?

Is any contact incidental or is it potentially damaging?

I had my Cooper STMaxx 255/80 R17's on the Jeep before we put on a leveling kit. It never rubbed anywhere on ours.

My 255/80r17 Cooper ST Maxx's are coming in on Thursday, when they're installed I'll upload a pic. I'm running stock suspension and wheels

This is the size I have been thinking of going with too, but I'm hoping to put in a 2.5" lift (either TeraFlex or AEV) during the summer and was hoping I won't have to get different wheels right away.

I've been running these tires for a year and a half now on mine. No need for new wheels at all.

What lift are you running?

I've been going back and forth between the new Rancho 2" progressive spring lift and the Teraflex 2.5" spring lift. If I didn't have to pay at tax time the decision would have been a lot easier.

lol I'm sure. I would say that my setup looks almost stock and many times even I question just how much lift I actually got. Then I walk up to a stock one and notice the difference.

With the 255/80s and Bilstein shocks I don't need to run extrnded bumpstops and only have a little bit of rubbing at full stuff and turning. That makes part of the Teraflex kit unneeded unless you go with another brand of shock like Rancho that doesn't collapse as far. I also almost feel like the Rancho control arm brackets drop my arms down too much as they look like they angle slightly up now.

The next thing on my list is going to be either a new trackbar (RKs joints leave me wanting) or brake lines as I'm not a fan of how the front lines are routed with the TF kit.

Did you see TeraFlex's new brake line bracket?

What do you think of those coopers? Are they reasonably round and quiet (compared to stock KMs?

I cant speak for the 255/80-17's but I can tell you the 285/75-17 ST maxx's are smooth and quiet and took very little weight to balance.

Thank you. I am still interested in this pizza cutter size, and there aren't many choices. It is the coopers and KM2.
