3.8 Oil Spray Under Hood

Hello all, I don't spend much time in the tech forum but thought I would ask a question about my 2010 JK. I bought it in early august of last year with 63,000 miles. I changed the oil at 65k and just put a quart of oil into it at 67,400.

About 3 months ago when I was at the gas station getting fuel, I noted what looked like oil sprayed under the hood. It was minimal, but it was definitely there. I cleaned the area well with paper towels etc and went about my business. Yesterday, while getting fuel, I checked the oil again and noted the oil spray had occurred again. I'm ok with the engine burning oil, but spraying it out the top seems questionable. Anyone have any ideas?

For sake of information:

2010 JK - 6 speed manual
2.5" Teraflex coil/spring lift (6 weeks old)
33" Trail Grapplers (6 weeks old)
-random other things, none of which would cause drain on engine, etc

Is the Breather hose to the air box still attached? What side of the engine is the oil on?
Is the oil filler cap tight?
Is the oil filter tight.
Is the dipstick in tight?
Check the valve covers to see that they not leaking.
Oil pressure sending unit may also be the culprit.

Do you have a picture?

Could be your front seal too.

I cleaned it before taking a picture. Will research some of these ideas this weekend.

The oil cap, dipstick, filter are all tight. Will check everything else.

Where did you clean the oil from? Have you ruled out power steering fluid and if your JK has A/C is it working properly. The only reason I mention this is because your A/C system is under pressure and the refrigerant is mixed with lubricating oil. If you're sure it's motor oil you should be able to see where the leak is coming from.
