430n RHB update issues

Hey, I'm running into some issues after trying to perform some updates to my 430n RHB system in my 2014 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited.

First I updated to 50.01.01 and lost the default Jeep logo on the background. It now is black. I tried going into menu to change it back but it seems all files with the logo are missing. I see the files for these in .dat form are on the update disc but must not have loaded or installed properly. I would appreciate help in getting it back.

Second, I tried installing an update to Garmin from Uconnect and now just get a boot loop, with gps not functioning and Guidance by Garmin screen flashing.

I think I really messed my system up. If anyone has any ideas let me know, otherwise I will have to take it to my dealer and hope my warranty will apply.

There have been issues with the latest update bricking some devices. Sounds like you're one of them.

Best bet is to have your dealer replace the unit under warranty.

If/when they do, leave the device as is. If it's working, the update is worthless.

If you end up taking it to the dealer, I would suggest not mentioning to them that you attempted the update yourself. That may be a cause for them to deny a warranty claim.

I just encountered the same problem. Have you had any luck getting it repaired?

I also recently upgraded to 50.01.01 and lost the default Jeep logo and the Sat Station Logos/Art works? Any idea on how to recover those picture and logos.

I also remember that I deleted all the pictures and audio files from the 430N RHB unit after I bought the jeep. Is it possible that during this deleting process, I may have deleted the jeep logo and Sat Station Logos? I doubt that. I think the culprit is 50.01.01.

You bricked your unit. Happened to me installing the same update. Called UConnect and they paid for a new unit and installation at my dealer.

What is to be gained by this update? Is it updated maps? I don't think so, but maybe it is. Is installing the update worth the chance of bricking your 430?
