Swapped out 130 to a 730n rer and everything works but the u connect microphone can’t hear me, swapped back to old deck ans the microphone works. Not sure how to remedy remedy the issue. I installed a rear camera and it was flashed. Please help with issue. Thanks

I was told that I need to get a new microphone that connects directly to the rer radio mic jack, Do you think there’s another way of getting mic to work? Not sure what you mean disconnect the connecter from separate module. Do you mean the center small gray plug on back of stereo?

The uConnect module from your 130 is mounted lower in the center stack, behind the climate control as I recall. You need to disconnect the harness that runs from the radio to the module at both ends (radio and module). You then need to disconnect the other harness from the module and buy an adapter harness that will run from the 2nd harness unplugged to the rear of your 730n radio.

On the old radio the microphone wiring goes into the 22 pin connector on the separate uconnect module

On the rer the microphone wires need to go directly to a 10 pin connector on the rer radio

You can rewrite the 5 wires (power, ground, mic1, mic2 and mic -)

Or get a separate mic with a 10 pin connector to plug into the rer

Of course no way to be sure there is not some other unidentified problem with your rer radio

Is your current mic separate or a pair
built into your rear view mirror

Infotainment.com has the jumper harnesses necessary, though there may be cheaper options available. If your Jeep is a 2011 or newer, there are 2 harnesses in the $81.40 kit. One takes care of the remote mic, which in my 2013 is at the top of the driver’s side A pillar (not in the mirror), and the other takes care of the remote USB plug in the center console.

When I went from a 130 to the 730N in mine, I got the harness kit from infotainment and it worked perfectly. The good part is, when I later decided to go aftermarket, I hadn’t cut, spliced, or modified any of the factory wiring, so I was able to install the new stereo using the jumper harness that came with it.

The cost of their harness kit seems high for what you get, but I prefer not to modify factory wiring if there is another option.

Does the 80 dollar harness work if I have a 2008 730N system going into my 2014 JKU? My radio works great and steering controls work except for nav and uconnect. Im guessing this harness will solve my issues?

The old set up with the 130 res has a mic on A post and steering wheel thumb button. Was still go8mg to use that set up so I would say build in but not in mirror. Everyone keeps saying I need a jumper from mic to radio direct to radio. I hope that helps

Watch this video

It was produced by infotainment.com. They sell factory MOPAR radios and various accessories for them. The video should help show you what we have been trying to explain.

After watching the video, you can by the jumper harness from them to make your A pillar mic work or you can decide to buy a new mic that will plug directly into your radio, but the new mic will not mount in the A pillar. You will have to mount the new mic on your dash, at the top of the windshield, or someplace else creative.

your 130 had an external uconnect module with a cable to the 10 pin harness on back of radio and a 22 pin plugged into the uconnect module plus a mini usb cable

Your RER has uconnect built in so you do not plug in the old 10 pin gray and you should unplug the 22 pin at the uconnect module

The RER has three plugs in back plus 3 fakra connectors

The gray 22 pin is used same as with prior radio
You need a new gray 10 pin for the microphone and microphone power wires currently ending in the gray 22 pin in the uconnect module

The other 22 pin at back of radio uses a white 22 pin for back up camera and rear seat audio and video

The fakra
Blue to gps antenna
White to am/fm antenna
Mustard to Sirius antenna
