Airbag light stays on

2015 JK. Recently my airbag light chimes once and stays on after I start the Jeep. I had the airbag recall done about 3 months ago. Is this the clockspring on the way out or is it something related to the recall work? The buttons on the steering wheel still work and there are no codes showing. If it's the clockspring, is there a recall or warranty extension for that part on a 2015 model? I've seen some varying information on google. Just trying to be as informed as possible before I take it in to the dealer next week. Thanks.

You won’t know until they plug a scanner that can read the airbag codes.

That probably won't help, as a faulty clockspring would give the same fault as a failed airbag squib.

It could be that the airbag wasn't plugged in properly, perhaps, and worked it's way loose?

Forgot to come back and update in case anyone is searching for this in the future.
The part replaced in the Recall was bad apparently, so the dealer replaced it again.
Before my service appt I was able to confirm through FCA Customer Care, that the warranty on the Clockspring was extended to include 2015 models.

Per FCA/Jeep Customer Care
"I was able to review your vehicle information. I am showing that there is an extended warranty on the vehicle. It is the X68 for the Clockspring. In order to get assistance under that extended warranty the vehicle would need to be diagnosed by your local Dealer to determine that it is the clockspring causing the issue. If so they can repair the vehicle at no charge to you."

You aren't alone there!

When they did mine, (the first time), it broke the horn. Took me over a year to get it replaced again, 2 'inspections*' to make sure it was really the fault and a lot of phone calls to force them into it. Then they caused so much damage to the shroud that I had to get them to replace that again. Well, replace the parts, I didn't trust them to replace it themselves. It looked like they screwed the Torx screws into the plastic with rattle guns.

* The first one didn't count because even though they verified it, & had that recorded, CJD refused it, (according to the stealer), and the new customer service manager had to start the process again...

The airbag has a locking tab that firmly keeps it seated together. I doubt the connection is the cause of the fault.

No, as he posted, it was a faulty clockspring that was installed.

I was thinking that if, when they inserted the connectors, one or both of them were not inserted fully, the tab may not lock & thus it could work it's way out. I've seen it happen. Though with how easy it is to insert the 2 airbag connectors, they would have to be pretty incompetent/distracted/careless to do that. Then again, there was what they did to the plastic shroud on mine that only needed 3 screws, so I couldn't rule it out...

It is a hand made lock and will not lock until the two parts are correctly assembled. Not just a slip on tab kind of thing. Cross locking and requires the tech to ensure it is locked.

As a locksmith I pulled a many GMC ans some Chrysler bags. Was a chore as they can become deadly with the slightest spark of static electricity.
