Another gear vs rpm question

I looked at the gear and rpm chart for my 2014 jku with an auto and 4.56 gears. With my 34.25" tires and my jeep programmed with my aev procal, I turn about 2600 rpm at 65mph. According to the charts I see, I should be turning 2100-2200rpm. The jeep is in 5th gear....I checked this by using the "slap" shifter.

Am I not reading these charts correctly?

To measure my tires, I pu t a piece of pipe on top of the tire and used a yard stick...they crossed at 34.25. Am I measuring correctly?

I believe you may have been looking at the 3.8L gear chart. According to that you would be running 2100 in OD(4th gear) but looking at the 3.6L chart you should be turning about 2600rpm as you are so you seem to be regular to me

Hmmm, seems to me you should be in the 2420 +/- RPM range.

I am geared @ 5.13 with a auto transmission.

@65 2500 RPM

@ 70 3000 RPM

@ 75 3100-3300 RPM

SOme guys think your jeep will be "screaming" At 3000 RPM, thats just not the case - your in OD and you cant even notice.

Where is this Jeep specific gear/rpm chart? I found one on "alloyusa.com" - is there another one specific to JK engine plants?

Thanks.

3200 RPM's is not screaming that motor? 50% higher than what it was built for and you now the history of Mopar Slush boxes. Good luck with that long term. My 4:10's with 35's are almost too tall for the street. Ok around town and local but it is the last rig in my fleet I would grab if I need to go 1000 miles. It would just not be fun. I have to push the V-6 hard with 4:10's just to stay with the flow in AZ traffic. All good if you are never going more than a couple hundred miles from home. Even with my 4:10's I can barely get 16 MPG and from what I hear I should not be complaining.

No, once in OVERDRIVE, 3000 rpms is nothing. The motor is not working any harder than 2000 rpm. In fact, it's probably working easier rather than bogging down from 1500 rpm when you mash the gas to pass on the freeway.

Are you driving a 3.8? Sounds like your are , you don't know the pleasures of the 3.6.

These engines have a thing called a powerband....trust me 3000 RPM on the freeway in OVERDRIVE is trivial.

BTW, with 5.13 gears and 35s Ian getting 16mpg in town.

4.88s, I am getting better highway mileage now than I did when I had 3.73 gears. Nice to be able to use all the gears. Actually I get better gas mileage offroad and just about all the time. 3000 RPM the engine seems just fine and I can pass on the highway.
