Antenna Options

Hello all,
I'm a new Jeep owner -have owned other 4WDs, not nearly as capable! I'm amazed at the camaraderie both online and on the trails/roads.
I installed a CB in my new vehicle, but a local 4WD club prefers the HAM radio (ICOM was mentioned as a good one). I'd like to keep both radios installed, and here's how I envision my setup. Please advise if it's possible, and suggestions would be good!
My CB antenna is on a spare-tire mount. I just bought a CB/AM/FM antenna splitter (CB/AM/FM Antenna Splitter) and was thinking if I use the CB antenna for the AM/FM reception, then I won't need the stock antenna mounted in front of the passenger side door. Now that I have an empty mounting location, I can put an antenna on there for the ICOM radio. It sounds like it would work.

Is there an antenna that will mount in the pre-existing hole? Maybe even screw right in?

I am starting to study for the technician's license. -hope to have it by the time I get the HAM radio purchased and installed in time for some summer fun!

Yikes, those CB/AM/FM antennas are junk. You'll never get a good SWR, there is no such thing as 'on size fits all' for antennas.. in particular for transmission. I've seen some setups here for both CB and Ham, search around.

Check in the Electronics and Communication section. There are several threads about ham and cb radios.
