I installed alloy balljoint on my jeep 5000 miles ago and i noticed today a 0.035 of an inch axial (up a d down play). Do i have to worry?

I'm not at all familiar with that tool, but if you're able to get that accurate of a measurement, you should contact Alloy and see if that number is concerning to them.
I literally ordered a set of their ball joints today, so I'm hoping that you're in the clear!

If you don't mind though, could you explain how you use the dial indicator to measure the play in the ball joints? I'm by no means questioning the integrity of your measurements, I ask out of pure curiosity (and possible future purchase reasons)

You're fine. Although it takes like 15 minutes to get everything off to check.

Up and down movement in the lower ball joint should not exceed 0.050"

I dont speak english much so i'll do my best... the base of the dial indicator is a magnet so i place it on the axle side(wherever the magnet can stick against something stable) then a adjust the tip of the indicator on the spindle knuckle. I lifted my axle with a jack untill the wheel spun free and i set the dial indicator to 0. I slowly drop untill the jack came loose. That way i can read the axial movement of my ball joint. If there's something you dont understand, feel free to ask me! I can read english with no problem whatsoever but when comes the time to explain something, it gets hard hahaha

Seems like a good explanation of what you did to me. Your English and description are both better than some that have it as a first language.

Yeah, x2 on that, if you think your English is not so good, you should visit the South here in the US... Actually, on second thought, you may want to avoid that- you don't want to have it get worse!

Thanks for the explanation, that makes perfect sense and I learned something today!

Thank you guys, glad my explanation is understandable. Sometimes i write thread that people don't seem to understand.. that's why i informed you before! Well at least i didn't translate my text with google traduction! Writing is easier than speak cause you can think about it and erase before you send it... but when i speak with someone, its a bit harder for me to say what i have to! Maybe i need to go to USA a little more lol
