Barricade Front Bumper and Winch

The next step in my upgrade path is a front bumper and winch. Extreme Terrain has the Barricade Trail Force HD and Barricade 12000lb steel cable winch for less than $800. On top of that they'll throw in a recovery (Hi Lift Style) jack. The reviews on their site and here seem good but my too good to be true alert is going off. Anyone have experience with either of these products? FYI I was looking at going with similar WARN gear.

lukenavarro,

I have had the front and rear Barricade bumpers for almost a year and I'm happy with them. I have a Warn winch so I can't comment on the Barricade one. Here is a shot of mine.

Also check out this post for lots of info on these bumpers.

It looks like you're getting great info in here! There are a lot of forum members and non-members running that Barricade Trail Force HD Front Bumper, Barricade Trail Force HD Rear Bumper and Tire Carrier and Barricade 12,000lb Winch and they're really happy with the set-up. I don't think you can beat it for the price!

If you decide to go that route, make sure you PM me for an even better deal!

-Ryan

I run the Barricade bumpers front and rear and couldn't be happier with them especially for the price. No experience with the winch.

I bought the Barricade bumper, 9500 winch and front skid in the fall. Can't beat XT and Ryan for customer service, no matter what product you choose. The Bumper is great. Can take a pretty good hit, looks great, perfect fit. Can't say enough good about it, especially for the price. The winch is ok, wish I had of gotten a better one. I skid logs out of the woods once a week and use it to raise my Jeep to clean the under carriage. The front skid is a pain. Get it now so you don't have to take the bumper off to put it on later and hope it lines up. Good quality and function, also makes the front have a nice finished look, just poor fit. Some worse than others. There are a couple of write ups on it here that will help if you run into major problems. Wish I had of gotten a free jack with mine.
Ill see if I can get some videos this weekend of me doing a little logging. I have a huge Cherry up on the hill I have to finish pulling down and a rock that I bump when I make the turn while dragging it into the landing. The coating isn't even chipped.

I'm glad you're happy with your parts! Sounds like your rig gets a lot of use out in the woods.

Do you have any specific complaints about the winch? How has it been holding up for you? I haven't heard anything negative about them so I'm curious what your reasons are for wish you had gotten a different one. Thanks!

I went ahead and bought the bumper and 12000lb steel winch. I probably don't need that much but rather have too much than too little. TJ I'm guessing your rig is a TJ. I don't see a Barricade front skid for '15s. Ryan am I right on that?

You are correct on that. We're working hard to get a Barricade Skid Plate for '10+ up on the site ASAP!

Does this front bumper mess with air bag deployment ?
