Broken/Cut Wire

My jeep had been running rough, so I brought it into the dealership. After a few hours, they determined that the PCV valve wasn't working properly and they replaced it. My jeep was running fine after that.

A few days later, I went to show my wife where the PCV valve was located, and we noticed a wire had been cut/broken. My first thought was that they must have accidentally broken it while they were in there, but then I noticed that the other end was folded back and taped up.

So, I'm wondering...is it possible that this was some kind of modification/recall that was required, and they just did it kind of sloppy? Or is it something that I should be concerned with. It's on a plug that I think is coming from the AC compressor.

I called the dealership to have them take a look at it, but their Jeep tech isn't working on the weekend.

Not sure what year your Jeep is but your question reminded me that I needed to check my oil so I took a couple of pics while I was there.

I have an '07 and I've never changed the valve or the wires so what I've got is how it came from the factory. It looks like mine had a wire cut at the plug as well. My guess is that the wiring harness fits several Jeep models and for the Wrangler, one of the wires isn't necessary.
