Bump steer

Wen noticing on my 2011 wrangler with 4 inch lift 35 inch tires I'm getting a weird pull in my steering wheel when hitting bumps at 25-30 mph. Any ideas on fix?

You need to make sure you track bar and drag link are parallel. Those bars being out of parallel is what causes the bump steer you're having. If you can, shoot a couple of pictures of your front end and we'll take a look.

Something like the Teraflex HD Frame Brace and Drag Link Flip Kit is designed to fix alignment issues in the front end. Let me know if you have any questions or if you'd like a quote on anything!

Wait hold up... Is this problem new or since lift install ? Worn parts will also give bumpsteer like symptoms.

Please list all the components included with your lift.

You have a drop pitman arm, I see it in the pic. There should be a raised or lowered bracket for the track bar ?
Edit: is there a raised bracket ? The upper mount is stock.

Did you see the thread linked in my sig line ?

I bought it with lift. It has done it since I bought it. It had 4000 miles when I bought it. 16000 miles now. The lift and components have 15000 miles on them.

Not really sure. Will have to look when I get back to my jeep. Not positive it's even a 4" lift. Guesstimate compared to other jeeps.

I checked toe in measurement. Seemed executive. 1/2 inch toe in. That's compared to rear. Would that be a issue. I was told 1/8" to 1/16" was where toe in should be?

What size tire?
Yes 1/2 is too much. Get the Jeep professionally aligned. It's not worth guessing. Then you can see what your caster angle is.

Read the link in my sig line. It's all there and easy to understand.

Ok ... Thanks.

You have a dropped pitman arm and raised track bar bracket.
This is supposed to fix bumpsteer. Not the best way to go about doing things, but it works.

Get her aligned and toe to spec. 1/2 in will chew your tires up.
