busted washer nozzle or?

Not sure if it's clogged or coming apart (never really looked at it before). Went to use the washer on Friday (normally use it quite often, hate dirty windshields) and besides spraying the windshield it pooled on the hood and ran all over the place. Took a look and it looks like there is a center plastic piece sticking out a bit. I can push it in about as much as it's sticking out in the picture I've attached, then it seems to work fine for a couple pulls on the control stick and then it pops back to that position again flooding the hood with fluid.

Is it just in need of replacement? Never had a washer nozzle go bad on anything before. It doesn't seem clogged since lots of fluid comes out still, it just doesn't all go where it's supposed to. I found a replacement on Quadratec that lists it as a 03-16 nozzle (really? they re-used the TJ nozzles?) and it looks like it would be simple to pop the old one out and pop a new one in.
