change up steering wheel radio controls?

The volume controls are on the right side of the steering wheel. How hard would it be to switch over to the left side? Is it just a matter of switching the wires before the harness? I have a satellite radio going through AUX and left side volume makes so much more sense with a manual trans. since I'm never changing stations on the radio itself. thanks!

Tried it but won't work. First the controlls all work on resistance. That means you can't change the actual buttons behind the steering wheel. And guess what, the buttons are also different dementions so you can't swap the left side to the right side. Another brilliant engineering feat by Chrysler. But I agree with you, the volume should be on the left side.

Yeah don't make sense as my right hand can reach the radio to the change volume.

There is a thread on this somewhere..

Just remove the horn & covers on the front of the steering wheel & swap the 2 switches. They are CAN-BUS switches so they look similar but work on different frequency's (& are different part#'s).
Just unplug them & switch side to side (keeping them orientated up/down properly-the switch wires will now face the opposite direction as originally) then plug them back into each 'local/closest' wire. No need to 'modify' the harness as they are CAN-BUS operated & can plug in basically anywhere in the BUS.

I did both my Jeeps, you'll be happy..

I tried this with my 2012, and I couldn't get it to work. I must have missed something. Will re investigate

It absolutely works, just swap the switches, it's a simple 20 minute job. Now if only I could figure out how to swap the change present button to the center of the volume button so I can so most used functions with my left hand.

Here's a video I came across a few months ago showing the controls being swapped:
