Clunk and play in rear Differential

When I am stopped at a stop light, with an automatic transmission, and I start to accellerate, I hear a 'clunk' come from the back of the Jeep (2 door JK 2014. Dana 44)

I jacked up the Jeep, and when I spun the driver side rear wheel, there was a good 1/2 inch of turning before it began turning the passenger rear wheel, and there was a clunk like gears engaging.

Is this normal for a Stock Dana 44 with limited Slip?

Jeep has 37,000 miles on it, and I changed the differential fluid at 20,000 miles.

Yep, it has a limited slip.

The New Dana 44 differentials have a drain hole at the bottom of the diff, and the magnet is there.

At 20K miles, I just drained the diff, cleaned off the magnet, put the plug back in, and filled it from the fill hole at the top.

Should I have taken it apart just to be safe?
