Cold weather engine noisy

It has been an abnormally cold winter even for quebec Canada this year.On start up the noise from my valve train seems way too loud for my liking. It goes away quickly but jeez its loud and I run the recommended oil 5w20.Anyone else hear this? I'm only at 48900km so not much mileage on her. Also I'm starting to think the stock batteries are garbage as well ? Looks like an optima battery is coming in the near future for me

0w20 is the better option

In extreme cold it is normal to hear valve train noise. A 0W20 oil is a better option as far as cold flow properties are concerned, just make sure if you switch to a 0W20 oil that it has Chrysler's warranty blessing if you're under a warranty. Even after a change to 0W20 depending on how cold it is you might still hear valve train noise in extreme cold.

I'm in Quebec also, 5w20 is fine. With the actual temperature that we have, synthetic oil helps a lot and also plug your heater if you have the chance for the first morning start up.

I'm always using synthetic oil in winter, it makes a big difference at -15C and below, easier start ups.
