Converting rear coils to leaf springs

There are obviously many benefits of converting a heavy JKRU or JKUR whichever to rear leaf springs. I've been trying to convince my friend to convert his, but he's displaying annoying reluctancy. I told him it'd firm up and stabilize the ride and allow him to carry more passengers & cargo without worry. It should probably shore up some flex too I'd assume. Those coils and numerous sway bars, links, etc is a complete joke.

My friend mainly uses his JK as a daily driver, but occasionally takes it out to Blaine County with the Ozark Off Road boys.

Let me know your thoughts.

I've seen a local dude swap leaf springs on the front of a TJ. Wheeled the crap out of it too.

Well right now he has RE short arms in the back and it gets all bound up. I figure some nice BDS leaves could shore up some flex.

I'm failing to see the humor in your post.

Well there's the problem. Control arms with double JJ's + heavier rates coils + longer/better shocks = less sag, less binding and a better ride.
RK has a nice 3 link too ... One less link haha

Since his last inflammatory attention seeking thread got locked, I guess he wanted another.

This is simply another trolling attempt.

Why don't you offer to loan him your KYJ when the Ozark boys want to get it on?

I can't believe you guys are going along with this guy

He is a pissed off YJ that got showed off by his friend with the JK and now he takes it out on this forum when deep down inside he knows he wants a JK but can't afford since that's the reason he still in a YJ

Come on man at least upgrade to a TJ or is that to much money for you or to fancy for you also

Leaf spring huuuh ...

Maybe it's not such a bad idea, you would be able to eliminate those annoying control arms that provide too much travel, you also would be able to add a bunch of wheel hop and wind up along the way. You can always add a leaf or two to increase load capacity and crank up the rake to improve aerodynamics

Have you also considered switching to wooden wheels and a team of horses in the front?
