Cruise Control Tripping Off

Very randomly when I am in cruise control it will turn off for no reason. At least two lights flash on my dash, but it happens so quickly I only know for sure that one of them is the sway bar light (I have a 2015 HR Rubi w/ disconnects). Not sure which other light, but my wife thinks its the brakes.

Any insight would be greatly appreciated. Been to the dealer about it, but the old adage, you can't fix what's not broken because it will never trip when at the shop.

Crossing uneven railroad tracks or hitting bumps in the road can trip off the cruise control.

Your cruise control system is operating normally. Cruise control will shut off automatically if the vehicle senses any type of wheel slip. Wheel slip can be caused by going over bumps or uneven pavement. It may seem random to you, but to the vehicle it isn't. The lights you see on the dash are likely the traction control and abs lights.

I had the same problem. Happened one day on a particular piece of highway, going across a bridge with an uneven seam. Thought it odd at the time, thought something was wrong with my Jeep. Then it happened the next day, and the next, etc. Now I go around that particular spot, and haven't had any problem since.

Had that happen on my 2010. Eventually, the warning lights stayed on. Took it to the dealer, and they said it was a bad wheel sensor. That lasted a few months, when it started again. That time it turned out to be a short in the wiring harness.

This happens to me all the time. I live near Washington DC. The beltway that surrounds DC is horrible on the SE side in Maryland. Over there, there are cracks and buckles that are almost as big as speed bumps with a speed limit of 55, and a traffic flow of 70. Everytime I ride over one my cruise control trips off.

Also check your ground cable to the battery. Mine did what yours is doing... then got progressively more often (and worse)! Someone here told me to check the negative cable and it was completely loose!
