Cylinder #6 Misfire, holds no compression :(

Hey guys,

My 07, 92k, JK's check engine light came on and after pulling the code it's reading as cylinder #6 misfire - P0306. The idle is rough and seems to be a hard mis. I've replaced the spark plug and wires as they are the typical culprits and are cheap fixes but unfortunately that didn't remedy the problem.

I did a compression check and #6 is not holding compression, the other cylinders are reading a pretty healthy 160-170. The engine does burn some oil but the 3.8 liters are known to do that. A mechanic friend took a look and thinks the intake valve might be sticking based on him feeling out the intake and exhaust while i cranked the motor during the compression test. I'm getting a borescope to see if we can confirm.

Is this a known issue with the 3.8L engines or do i just have crappy luck? Are there any cheap tricks I can try before tearing apart the head? Also, anyone know of a reputable shop that would do some head work in the northern virginia area?
