Dana 3.45 rear only?

I'm sure the seeds of a dumb question are lurking here but: I ran across a list of Dana gear ratios specifically for Wrangler D44s and I see they list 3.45 for a rear only. Am I missing something? I thought front/rear ratios must always match...?

They are talking about the new axles on the JL. Note they list the gear ratios for the 44 Front and 44 Rear. Only the Rubicon has D44s in the front and they come with 4.10s F&R. The Sport and Sahara have the D30 in the front. (They just refer to it as a 3rd Generation solid axle in the specs.)

I know that there were some early JKs that were 2WD only, but not sure if 2008 or 2009 was the last year. I think that back in the day there were some 2WD YJs (one showed up on Fantom Works when it was still on TV).

Correct. That's for the new Advantek JL axles.

Oh, of course. I should have put that together. I was poking around online yesterday debating whether my wife's Sport would eventually get an upgraded axle. Probably wasted money for our purposes, but I'm hoping to find myself a Rubicon later this year -- so I had D44 on the brain all day!

The JL Rubicon doesn't come with 3.45 so you can't get that ratio for the front. A D30 from a non-Rubicon would have that ratio available.
